LOGO:: Planet Outdoors supplies gear for many different sports, so when I was developing the mark I decided to go with an organic leaf shape that is active and pointing in a forward positive direction for the “P.” This gets to the outdoors aspect as well as people being active.
WEBSITE: Since Planet Outdoors does not have any store locations, I wanted to give the customers a website that they would want to visit every few days. It is full of useful information for experienced outdoors men or for people that are just getting started.
PACKAGING: Instead of creating a package for each product in the Planet Outdoors line, I created a drawstring bag in a variety of sizes that is very easy to pack and ship out. The bag is reusable which goes along with Planet Outdoor's green philosphy.
CATALOG: The theme for the winter product catalog is “On top of the World.” Planet Outdoors wants to empower their target audience by showing the stories of like-minded people. I wanted customers to get excited about their winter sport and visit the website for gear.
